Born to dare unknown battles

“Chinualumogu” became one of his titles

An invocation of God to his plight

Of battles he still dares to fight

He may not be “A Man of the People”

To make his thoughts a scribble

To have shed light to the “Heart of Darkness“

And made us see some likeness

 

 

 

 

In reminding us that “There was a country”

Of which some consider an effrontery

Even homemade honours were undesirable

A stand against abuse of honours undeniable

In this age, he still scribbles bold

The storyteller that is 82 years old

 

 

 

 

 

A storyteller that told of stories told

Of what mother and sister said of old

From which he dug and found gold

Chronicled with over 8 million copies sold

“Things Fall Apart,” a storyteller told

On this Edochie found his hold

 

 

 

 

 

As an “Ebubedike” in nollywood’s fold

In Okonkwo’s world of old

But 50 cent was too bold

 

 

 

To assume it was all about the gold

He should be forgiven and be told

That An Africa heritage is more than gold

A heritage of stories told

Of a storyteller that told of stories told
