The fact was and still is that I DID NOT VOTE FOR
PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN. And another fact is that yesterday,
was the first time I felt proud to have heard "MY PRESIDENT" address
his fellow citizens. All it took was for him to be bold enough
to say it like it should be said. Mind you, it is not about what should have been written in
the script nor how soon the script should have been read. But, and most importantly, it is about how the script was read. The punch line
for me was: "...WHEREVER THEY MAY GO, WE WILL HUNT THEM DOWN, WE WILL
FISH THEM OUT AND WE WILL BRING THEM TO JUSTICE. NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES,
WE WILL WIN THIS WAR AGAINST TERROR!" To me, all the other paragraphs were just "grammar."
He said it like he meant it and I felt it like I heard it.
Those are the kind of words that would spur troops of
volunteers to the defense of their father’s land in the face of the worst kind of enemies imaginable. Long before yesterday, I had joined in the
fight against these violators of the integrity of my mother’s land. And yesterday, after the presidential
address, I have volunteered to write a memo to those that have given my
president an excuse to flex his presidential muscle.
And it reads thus:
NATIONAL INTERNAL MEMO
FROM: THE PRESIDENT,
FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
TO: THOSE WHO THREATEN THE SOVEREIGN INTEGRITY OF THE NIGERIAN
STATE
TOPIC: STATE OF EMERGENCY
those

THE PRESIDENT HAS SPOKEN!

On behalf of the
President,
Federal Republic of Nigeria
To those that claim that the president’s
declaration was an action left a little late, I am sorry I have to
go against every fiber of my bias to take the side of the president on
this. There is an African proverb that states that "A child is not
punished on the day he spills palm oil but on the day he spills the water
medium for making palm oil.” It is
unfortunate that so many lives have been lost.
It is regrettable that so much has been damaged. But it is imperative to note that “you don’t
unleash the use of an automatic rifle to kill a fly.” He needed a grave excuse and the "foolish fly had to metamorphose into a dragon."
Caution was first required because there were too much political sentiments surrounding the insurgence which makes the saying a wise one that “the fly which perches on one’s scrotum is
either killed or shooed off with caution.” The insurgents and terrorists were playing on our delicate diversity up until yesterday!
I pray for the security agents that have been called upon
to the defense of our national sovereignty.
And I pray for the President that the lord be his
strength to remain Presidential and continue to show the wisdom and strength required to rule the most populous black nation in the world!
LONG LIVE MY BELOVED COUNTRY!
LONG LIVE MR. PRESIDENT OF YESTERDAY!
