NIGERIA’S 2015 ELECTIONS: THE BIGGEST MISTAKE!

It is not a mistake that the electoral process is shrouded in controversies of which nearly everyone seem eager to blame the man burdened with the unenviable task of organizing the process.  Clearly, the mistake in the entire process is in the fact that a nation like Nigeria had to be short-changed with two questionable
choices as the most popular options for the presidential elections.

The very week of electorates going to the polls to elect a president, the nation whirls in its worst foreign currency exchange rate.  There are queues at fuel stations.  Some communities have no electricity lingering past a week and most intriguing, our Chibok girls are still missing.  Yet, there
are people dancing and shouting themselves to a frenzy.  All in the name of campaigning for a man under whose watch the nation suffers the aforementioned.

Strange is the support for the seating president that by just walking into a prayer house, flocks of such house suddenly are overwhelmed by some dumb inclination to forget how troubled the nation is under his watch to declare that he is the chosen one.

Under normal circumstances, no one ever considers a candidate for a job opening when health is in doubt.  Yet, here we are staring at the opposition to the seating president, while they tell us that that is the best they can do.

He who could not bridle his words because he lost an election; words venomously coated to incite a people against their people, the same is being heralded as an alternative in the forthcoming election.

Where was he when terrorists ravaged villages in the state next to his?  If he could not seize such golden opportunities to show what a leader he can be, what assurance is there that when he becomes president all our terror problems would vanish to the wind?  And if indeed, on becoming president our terror trouble do vanish, what is to make anyone not believe that he intentionally kept away from assisting against terror so as to show that he can make it all stop on becoming president?

Must he be president?  After severally failed attempts, what is wrong in mentoring someone in his stead?  Probably because he does not know that one of the weakest type of leaders is a leader with position.  Take away the position and what is the person?  So, the question begs, what is he without the position of president?

The above highlighted mistakes in choices for the presidency are mare child’s play when compared to the biggest mistake of all, THE ELECTORATES!

How is it that in spite of the glaring obvious that the economy is in its worst state ever, there are people ready to die on the streets campaigning for the man responsible for this bad state of the nation?  What is it that would make people stand behind a man that can incite them to violence against fellow citizens while he enjoys safety in the comfort of his home and later visits the enemy to share a laugh with him?

Whichever divide you belong to,if you have been considered eligible to vote, SHUT YOUR MOUTH, go to polls, make your choice, SHUT YOUR MOUTH and go home.  Whenever the results are declared, again, SHUT YOUR MOUTH and don’t continue to prove to the world that we are the BIGGEST MISTAKE of Nigeria’s 2015 election.

         VOTE WISELY!
