SEX STRIKE:
IN THEORY OR PRACTICAL?
Women in Togo have been urged to abstain from sex for a week.
The ban was called by opposition coalition
"Let's Save Togo," made up of nine civil society
![]() |
groups and seven opposition parties and
movements.
Opposition leader Isabelle Ameganvi said that
sex could be a "weapon of the battle" to
achieve political change.
The coalition wants President Faure Gnassingbe, whose family has held power for
decades, to stand down.

Hmmm...
I read about the above and I got dangerously
thinking...
Think about it like this, if the men still don't comply with the interest of the sex striking women, would the strike continue
indefinitely?
How about the women that would want to oppose the interest
of the women of the sex strike? How does
the strike deter them?
isn't this an apt example of the idiomatic drowning man
(or should I say women), grabbing at straws...
Which is to say:
If a+b=c
Then:
A people not ready
to fight for what is right, (plus) the same people using “the drowning man or women
grabbing at straws” strategy, is equal to: THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF TOGO WILL
VERY MUCH BE THE FORMER PRESIDENT OF TOGO!
SOMEONE PLEASE PROVE MY THEORY WRONG!
And while someone is trying to do that, can someone else please suggest where these sex striking women can go to and see clips of how women aided in the recent Arab revolutions? I hate to see their strike called off with them having to go back to their men who might not be available because there were women who refused to join the strike. Hmmm...
